What is UCanCoach ?

UCanCoach is a trusted community marketplace where people and businesses around the world connect, share their real-life experience, knowledge or skills, and coach each other to achieve personal or professional objectives.

Among other things, UCanCoach is a platform where you can meet people with similar interests, acquire new skills and experience, share your passion, demonstrate your expertise in specific fields, and earn money.

Trusted services

UCanCoach puts information sharing and goal achievement within reach for its members. Coaches have a detailed profile with pictures and links to their web pages. Learners can verify the coach ids and profile details by connecting to their social networks, blogs and websites.

UCanCoach provides a smart messaging system, ratings and reviews written only by confirmed users, and manage a secured platform to manage payments.

How to coach

Sign up as a coach

You will have to finalize your description before posting your coaching sessions. Fill out the required information including your banking details so you can receive your money. Add links to your pages in social media sites.

Create an offer

Fill out your coaching offers with pictures, areas of expertise, geographical location, availabilities, tags and any relevant information. Select your coaching profile (professional or non-professional coach) and the meeting type (face to face and/or through video chat). Choose your coaching categories from among the twelve categories available. Finally indicate a price.

A coaching offer posted on UCanCoach can be booked by several learners. You can manage your stock, i.e. the number of times your coaching session can be booked, easily on your coach dashboard. If you want to offer different coaching sessions, you will have to create multiple offers and publish them. You can publish as many offers as you want for free.

Messaging

Learners and coaches can use our messaging system to get more information, ask for clarification or confirm final details. The button is displayed on the coaching session page. Starting a conversation is only one click away.

Using our messaging system is only accessible once you signed in.

Booking

You receive an email when a member has booked one of your coaching sessions. UCanCoach handles all of the payments. You never have to deal directly with money. Learners pay through UCanCoach when they book a coaching session. They receive by email a reservation code within 24h after their booking. Learners give you the code during the coaching session. Money is transferred to you 3 to 8 days after you have sent us the code using the payment confirmation form.

Meeting with your learner

Both the learner and you agree on the date, time, place or video application to be used and content of the coaching session. You are punctual, friendly, welcoming and available. Transfer your knowledge, competences, skills, and experience to the learner. Give appropriate advice tailored to the learner’s needs.

Meet preferably your learner face to face. You can also use video chat applications such as Skype and Facetime.

Getting paid

Your learner receives a reservation code by email within 24h after booking the coaching session. He/she will give you the reservation code by printing, forwarding or showing you the email with the reservation code during the coaching session. You will be credited 3 to 8 days after having sent the code using the payment confirmation form.

How to be a learner

Search

Have a great coaching experience using advanced searching options. Pick “Find a coach” in the menu bar. Quickly find your coach filtered by price, coaching levels, categories, geographical location and meeting type (face to face or video chat). Use also the search bar to find a coach using keywords.

Communicate

UCanCoach makes it easy to communicate with coaches through use of our messaging system. Learners can use the system to get more information, ask for clarification or confirm final details. The button is displayed on the coaching session page. Starting a conversation with a coach is only one click away.

Book

Learners can book a coach in an instant by using the “Add to cart” button. After checking out, you will receive your reservation code by email within 24h. You should not give this code to the coach in any case before the coaching session.

Meet

You and your coach agree on the date, time, place or video application to be used, and content of the session. Don’t forget to give the reservation code when you meet so he/she can get paid. Print, show or forward the email with the reservation code to your coach during the session. All you have to do is enjoy your coaching session!

 Meet preferably your coach face to face. You can also use video chat applications such as Skype and Facetime.

Review

After the coaching session, give a rating from 1 star (low rating) to 5 stars (good rating). Write an honest review about your coaching experience with the coach. UCanCoach is built on its community and your opinions are really valuable to others.

What does a coach do?

The basics

The coach helps the learner in achieving a specific personal or professional goal. He transfers his/her knowledge, competences, skills, and experience to the learner. The coach also gives appropriate advice tailored to the learner’s needs.

The coach is friendly, welcoming and available. He undertakes to honor and protect the privacy and confidentiality of any communications and personal information shared with him/her by the learner.

Create an account

If you don’t have a UCanCoach account yet, go to www.ucancoach.com and click Sign Up.

You can sign up using your email address. Signing up and creating an account is free. Complete your account and banking details before posting a coaching session or booking a reservation.

Coach verified profile and contact details

UCanCoach is based on a relationship of mutual trust between a learner and a coach. Complete your profile description and add links to your social network pages, blogs and websites so that learners can check your ID and profile details.

Does UCanCoach verify profile information?

Coaches have a detailed description including links to their social media pages, websites and blogs. Learners can check coach Ids and profile details by visiting these pages. We encourage learners to ask questions to coaches using the UCanCoach messaging system.

UCanCoach’s sole role is to facilitate the connection between coaches and learners. We do not verify ID. Members providing incorrect, incomplete and misleading details at registration will have their account immediately, either temporarily or indefinitely, suspended.

Let us know immediately if you have any doubt about someone’s ID by sending an email to support@ucancoach.com.

How can I delete my account?

To delete your UCanCoach account, you can send us an email at support@ucancoach.com.

When you delete your account, all your coaching sessions, reservations, and/or payments in progress will be cancelled. You cannot reactivate a deleted account.

Can UCanCoach delete my account?

UCanCoach may suspend or delete your account, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions of Use.

Your account may be temporarily suspended or deleted if:

  1. We receive complaints
  2. You have a high cancellation rate
  3. You did not comply with our Quality Charter or Terms & Conditions of Use

Any upcoming pending or accepted coaching sessions you have as either a coach or learner can be cancelled; you may not be entitled to any compensation for the coaching sessions that were cancelled as a result of your suspension. We also may:

  1. Communicate to the appropriate coach or learner that their reservation was cancelled
  2. Refund learners in full, regardless of the cancellation policy
  3. Contact learners about alternative coaches that may be available
  4. Reject your registration on UCanCoach for an indefinite period

Security & Password

Reset your password

If you’ve forgotten your password / username or are having trouble logging in to your UCanCoach account, click on “Forgot password” on the login page. Enter the login or email address you use for UCanCoach in order to obtain a new username or password by email.

Update your password

If you know your current password, but you want to change it:

  1. Go to your profile icon in the menu bar
  2. In the submenu, click settings
  3. Under General, enter your new password and save changes

Change email address

It is not possible to change the email address you use for your UCanCoach account.

Language & currency

Language preference

Use the language switcher available at the bottom to change the language. You may choose between French and English.

Why are some pages not translated on UCanCoach?

UCanCoach is constantly improving its website in order to give its members the best user experience possible. Our team is working hard and UCanCoach will soon be available in several languages. We will keep you updated!

Internet browsers

For the best experience using the UCanCoach site, we suggest using the most up-to-date version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Browser developers frequently make improvements to provide you with a faster, more secure online experience. Newer browsers also support a wider range of designs and features than older browsers. Many features of the UCanCoach website don’t work with older versions and we can’t provide technical support if you’re using an outdated browser.

If you prefer to use Internet Explorer or Cortana, please use the most up-to-date version.

Who can coach?

Almost everyone can be an amateur coach. UCanCoach is all about helping others achieve specific personal and professional goals, using your own experience, skills and competences. It is free to sign up and post your coaching sessions.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a way of developing people’s skills and abilities, and of boosting performance in order to achieve specific personal and professional goals. Coaching is considered a proven approach for helping others explore their goals and ambitions, and then, to achieve them.

Coaching works best when everyone understands the reasons for hiring a coach, and sets the expectations for what he/she wants to achieve through coaching.

Add your coaching sessions - Step by step guide

Step 1 - Sign up as a coach

When you register, tick the box Register as a coach.

Step 2 - Create your page

Your page is tailored to you and your brand. It will display all your coaching sessions.

To create a store:

  1. Go to your profile icon in the menu bar
  2. In the submenu, click Coach dashboard
  3. Complete your information on the tabs Store, Payment and Social
  4. Accept the Terms & Conditions of Use
  5. Click on Apply to be a coach

Your page is immediately created and you have access to your Coach dashboard. Click on Settings and add a page banner/icon, or update your information.

Step 3 - Add your coaching session

To add a coaching session:

  1. Go to your Coach dashboard
  2. Click Add coaching session
  3. Add a name, description and upload up to 2 images. You must not add your phone number in the description.
  4. Choose the coaching categories and/or subcategories as precisely as possible
  5. You can create specific tags/keywords and assign them to your coaching offers
  6. Set your price
  7. Add the attributes Level, pick your coaching Profile (amateur or professional); the meeting type (face to face and/or through video chat); the localisation (nearest cities)
  8. In the Inventory tab, add your stock (number of times your coaching session can be booked by learners). If you want learners to book your session only once per order, use the sold individually option
  9. Click Save Pending

Your coaching sessions will be submitted for review and posted on UCanCoach within 24 hours.

A coaching offer posted on UCanCoach can be booked by several learners. You can manage your stock, i.e. the number of times your coaching session can be booked, easily on your coach dashboard. Where can I see if my coaching sessions has been reviewed and approved by UCanCoach?

You will received an email when your coaching session is approved by our team.

What is the Coach dashboard?

You can have access to all information when you go on the Coach Dashboard from a global overview of your activities, to changing your settings and looking at your store.

The dashboard tab allows coaches to have a global overview of orders, coaching offerings, total coaching services sold, commission paid. All the information is displayed through tables, diagrams, and bar charts over a chosen period of time.

Can I modify a coaching session after it has been approved?

You can modify a coaching session at any time. You can update content, price, images or any detail. The most important item to check regularly is your stock to make sure your coaching session is not out of stock. If this is the case, customers will not be able to book your offer.

To modify your coaching session:

  1. Go to your Coach dashboard
  2. Choose the Products tab
  3. Locate the coaching session that you want to modify and click on Edit
  4. Update the field you want to change
  5. Click on Save changes

Your coaching session will again be submitted for review and posted in UCanCoach within 24 hours.

How do I set my price?

The price you charge for your coaching session is completely up to you. Search for comparable services in your city or neighborhood to get on idea of market prices for coaches and adapt the price to your profile and experience.

What do I need to do when my coaching session is out of stock?

If your coaching session is out of stock, in other terms all your sessions have been booked for one of your coaching offers, you can add stock:

  1. Go to your Coach dashboard
  2. Click on the Product tab
  3. Locate the coaching session that is out of order and click on Edit
  4. In the Choose number of sessions tab, add your stock (number of times your coaching session can be booked by learners). If you want learners to book your session only once per order, use the sold individually option
  5. Click Save Changes

Your coaching sessions will again be submitted for review and posted on UCanCoach within 24 hours.

Your bookings

Answer inquiries and clarification questions

Messaging on UCanCoach starts when a member sends you a message using the “ask a question” button or an inmail.  All messages related to the same conversation will appear in your inbox. You must be logged in to your UCanCoach account to view or send messages.

To view a message on UCanCoach:

  1. Click on the envelope icon in the menu bar
  2. Or go to your profile icon in the menu bar and click Messages in the submenu
  3. In your inbox, you’ll see a message thread for each inquiry or reservation

You can see if you have received new messages by looking at the number near the envelope icon in the menu bar.

To send a message on UCanCoach:

  1. In your inbox, click on Compose
  2. Fill the username email address, subject and message
  3. Click Send message

To remove a message from your inbox:

  1. In your inbox, you’ll see a message thread for each conversation
  2. Tick the box in front of the message you want to delete
  3. In bulk action, choose Delete
  4. Click on Apply

If a message makes you feel uncomfortable or someone tries to get you to pay outside UCanCoach, let us know immediately by sending an email to support@ucancoach.com.

How booking a coaching session works?

The potential learner communicates with the coach using UCanCoach messaging system to obtain relevant information including pre-sale questions and coaching contents. The learner decides whether he/she wants to book a coaching session. The coach receives notice of confirmed reservations by email.

The coach accepts reservations from all learners. The coach does not engage in any form of illegal discrimination in particular the surname, name, gender, age, nationality, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, political opinions, and profession.

How to coordinate final details with your learner?

The coach and the learner communicate with each other and agree on the date, time, place or video application to be used, and content of the coaching session. The coach is punctual, friendly, welcoming and available.

Meet preferably your learner face to face. You can also use video chat applications such as Skype and Facetime.

Confirm your contact information and coaching session details so you can reach each other in case plans change. Make sure to let each other know if you’ll be without access to a phone or the Internet.

Can I refuse the booking of a coaching session?

The potential learner communicates with the coach using UCanCoach messaging system. Get to know him/her by asking questions and redirecting him to your social media pages, blog, sites if needed. See if you are a good fit for one another. If his/her objectives don’t match your experience, skills, competences, and availabilities, just tell them your honest opinion so he/she will not book a coaching session with you. If the learner decides to book a coaching session, you will be notified by email.

You cannot refuse booking from learners. You cannot engage in any form of illegal discrimination.

You may cancel a coaching session but you must have made reasonable efforts to meet the learner’s requirement. You may also cancel a session if you don’t feel comfortable coaching someone in particular. Justifications must be sent to support@ucancoach.com.

Repeated cancellations may result in the immediate temporary or indefinite suspension of your account.

How do I cancel a booking?

You may cancel a coaching session but you must have made reasonable efforts to meet the learner’s requirement prior to making a claim, including messaging the learner to notify him/her of the issue. You may also cancel a session if you don’t feel comfortable coaching someone in particular. The act of cancelling reservation must be supported by a valid claim. We may suspend your account until you provide a fair justification. All documents supporting the claim have to be sent by email to support@ucancoach.com

Repeated cancellations may result in the immediate temporary or indefinite suspension of your account and all associated services.

Both the learner and the coach must immediately inform UCanCoach team by e-mail at support@ucancoach.com so that we can take all necessary measures. If a coach cancels a session, UCanCoach won’t charge any transaction or payment processing fees. The total amount will be refunded by UCanCoach to the learner via a secure interface.

Coaches and learners who don’t comply with the Quality Charter or Terms & Conditions of Use will have their account temporarily or indefinitely suspended by UCanCoach, without prejudice to any legal action that UCanCoach may take to obtain reparation for any prejudice suffered as a result of the cancelled booking.

Can a learner cancel a booking with me?

A learner can cancel his booking with you but he/she must have made reasonable efforts to meet the your requirement prior to making a claim. He/she may also cancel a session if he/she doesn’t feel comfortable being coached by you. The act of cancelling a reservation must be supported by a valid claim. We may suspend the learner’s account until he/she provides a fair justification. All documents supporting the claim have to be sent by email to support@ucancoach.com.

Repeated cancellations may result in the immediate temporary or indefinite suspension of the learner’s account and all associated services.

Do learners get a full refund in case of cancellation?

If a coach cancels a session, UCanCoach won’t charge any transaction and payment processing fees. The full amount of the coaching session will be refunded by UCanCoach to the learner via a secure interface.

If a learner cancels a session, the price of the coaching session minus the payment processing fee and the service fee will be refunded on the learner’s account.

The act of cancelling a reservation must be supported by a valid claim. All documents supporting the claim have to be sent by email to support@ucancoach.com.

Repeated cancellations will result in the immediate temporary or indefinite suspension of your account and all associated services.

What do I need to do if I don't feel comfortable coaching someone in particular?

You may cancel a session if you don’t feel comfortable coaching someone in particular. Justifications must be sent to support@ucancoach.com.

What do I need to do if the learner wants to extend the coaching session after it ends?

Your learner and you agree on the date, time, place or video application to be used and content of the session. If your session has ended, feel free to tell your learner to book other sessions with you on UCanCoach.

Can I ask a learner to modify a published review?

If you disagree with the learner on some points of his/her review, you may contact him/her through UCanCoach messaging system.

However, UCanCoach does not allow messages that:

  • violate another person’s entity rights, including intellectual property rights and privacy rights
  • may considered to be used as extortion
  • contain profane, vulgar, obscene, defamatory, threatening or discriminatory contents

Disputes and resolutions

In case of a dispute if you are unable to reach an agreement, you can ask UCanCoach to make the final decision. To involve UCanCoach, send an email to support@ucancoach.com.

When you involve UCanCoach, our team will be notified and a dedicated team member will be assigned to your case. He/she will review the information provided by you and the learner, before making a final decision. In some cases, we may need to contact you to gather additional information, before we can make a decision.

In that case and until the dispute is completely resolved, the accounts of the concerned members may be temporarily suspended. If a member receives many complaints, UCanCoach reserves the right to delete the account of that member.

Liability

The coach is directly liable for detrimental consequences that may result from the coaching session, including but not limited to any physical, mental or emotional or material injuries suffered by the learner or any third party. The coach must take out an insurance policy sufficiently covering his/her civil liability and all types of accidents that may occur in relation to the coaching sessions offered.

UCanCoach cannot be held responsible. UCanCoach is simply an intermediary that proceeds with the booking of coaching sessions, validates payment and processes financial transactions between learners and coaches.

Getting paid

How does payment work?

All payments are managed by UCanCoach through Mangopay, an end-to-end solution for marketplaces. MANGOPAY holds an EMI licence granted by the CSSF and is a brand of the Leetchi Group, part of the Credit Mutuel Arkéa, a French banking group.

Learners book the selected coaching session by credit card. The booking price includes the coaching session, payment processing fee and UCanCoach platform service charges (technical, marketing, support, team). Learners receive a reservation code by email within 24h after having made their reservation.

The reservation code is given to the coach during the coaching session. The coach will be credited his coaching listing price minus the payment and the service fees 3 to 8 days after having sent us the code using the payment confirmation form.

Payment processing fees

To help cover the costs of processing payments, we charge a 5% service fee every time a booking is made.

Service fees

To help cover the costs of running UCanCoach, we charge a 7% service fee every time a reservation is confirmed.

Is there any listing fee ?

We do not charge any listing fee. You can publish as many coaching sessions as you want for free.

Is there any fee to send an email to a coach?

We do not charge any fee. You can ask to the coach all the clarification questions that you want for free before booking a session.

What is the payment confirmation form?

The coach uses this form to let us know that the coaching session has been completed so we can transfer the money into his/her account. The coach has to fill the form with his/her first name, last name, UCanCoach username, the order number (on the invoice), the coaching session date, and the reservation code given by the learner during the coaching session. Money is transferred to the coach’s account 3 to 8 days after having submitted the form.

Can I ask the learner to pay for the coaching session outside of UCanCoach?

Booking and payment are made directly on UCanCoach. You cannot ask a learner to pay outside UCanCoach. Coaches that don’t comply with the Quality Charter or Terms & Conditions of Use will have their account temporarily or indefinitely suspended by UCanCoach, without prejudice to any legal action that UCanCoach may take to obtain reparation for any prejudice suffered as a result of the cancelled booking.

Can I ask for additional fees during the coaching session?

The coach cannot ask any additional financial contribution during the coaching session from learners or take them to places (restaurants, bars,…) with which he/she has a commercial or financial interest.

Coaching standards

Accurate information

Creating a detailed profile and providing accurate information will help attract potential learner. Include a photo that clearly shows your face. Describe precisely your skills, competences, experience, availabilities and location. Be honest about your strength and give some information on what things you can teach, share and coach. Set your price taking into account your profile and what topics you are coaching.

Efficient communication

Communication is a key element to build trust, show that you are an attentive and considerate coach, and make (potential) learners feel more comfortable booking a coaching session with you. Respond to pre-sales and clarification questions in a timely and polite manner. Get to know your prospective learner to see if you’re a good fit for one another. If his/her objectives don’t match your experience, skills, competences, and availabilities, just tell them your honest opinion so they won’t book a coaching session with you.

When you have a confirmed reservation, communicate with your learner. Make sure that he/she knows how to reach you and see if there is anything you can do to help him/her feel more comfortable before the coaching session. Confirm final details with your learner and inform him/her immediately if you have to reschedule.

Listen and understand

Listening is a powerful way to connect with another person and understand his/her needs. Good listening skills lead to more information sharing, powerful coaching sessions and better learner satisfaction.

Availabilities

List clearly your availability in your detailed profile page and coaching session description. Respond clearly to pre-sales questions concerning your availability.

When you have a confirmed reservation, contact your learner in a timely manner to schedule the coaching session. Ensure that he/she has all the information necessary to easily access the place where the coaching shall take place

If you need to postpone a coaching session because of unexpected events, be sure to let your learner know as soon as possible. Communicate with one another and agree on a new date, time and location. In case of lateness, inform your learner without delay indicating the estimated time of arrival.

Commitment

We put lots of emphasis on commitment. When someone hires you as a coach, he/she believes that you are the right person to help them achieve his/her goals. That’s why it’s important to make sure you are able to meet a learner in fairly reasonable time before posting any coaching sessions. The ideal timeframe would be at most within 1 week.

If the unexpected happens and you can’t meet your learner within 2 weeks, you should:

  1. Let your learner know as soon as possible
  2. Be polite and transparent when you tell your learner that you need to reschedule
  3. Set a new date as soon as possible for the coaching session

Non-disclosure agreement

Although it is not required, as appropriate, learners may share some confidential, personal information during coaching sessions. The coach undertakes to honor and protect the privacy and confidentiality of any communications and personal information shared with him/her by the learner. The coach agrees that personal information will not be shared at any time with any person or organization without the learner’s prior written permission.

Finding a coach

How do I search for coaches?

When you search for a coach on UCanCoach, you can use advanced filtering options to narrow your search. Read descriptions and send messages to ensure that your objectives match with the coach’s experience, skills, competences, and availabilities.

To search for a coaching session:

  1. Click on “Find a coach” in the menu bar
  2. Use search by keywords or filter by price, categories and subcategories, geographical locations, coach profile, and meeting type. You can sort the results by price, popularity, ratings and date added
  3. Thumbnails show the price, ratings and name of the coach. Click on a thumbnail to see the detailed description
  4. Read the description, additional information and coach information tabs to learn more about the coach, his/her skills, experience, and availabilities
  5. Click on the review tabs to see reviews and ratings that other learners have left for the coaching session and the coach
  6. To have more information on the coach, click on the coach banner located at the top to access the coach store. You will find all his coaching sessions, detailed description, reviews, ratings, and links to his social media pages
  7. If you want to ask the coach any questions, click on the button Ask a question
  8. When you are ready to book, click on Add to cart

Use search filters

Use advanced filtering options to narrow your search.

  • Search by keywords: use standard keywords search
  • Filter by price: use the right/left arrows of the sliding scale to choose your price range
  • Filter by categories and subcategories: select the type of coaching sessions that interest you the most among 12 categories and more than 100 subcategories
  • Filter by coach profile: choose between amateur and professional coaches
  • Filter by geographic location: select the countries and cities where you are looking for coaching sessions
  • Filter by meeting type: Choose between face-to-face and video chat coaching session

How do I view and send messages?

Messaging on UCanCoach starts when a member sends you a message using the “ask a question” button or an inmail.  All messages related to the same conversation will appear in your inbox. You must be logged in to your UCanCoach account to view or send messages.

UCanCoach encourages (potential) learners to communicate with coaches using our internal messaging system. Communication is a key element. Get to know your coach to see if you are a good fit for one another and to make sure that your objectives match the coach’s experience, skills, competences, and availabilities.

Booking a coach - step by step guide

Step 1 - Sign up on UCanCoach

To sign up on UCanCoach:

Step 2 - Search for a coach

When you search for a coach on UCanCoach, you can use advanced filtering options to narrow your search. Read descriptions and send messages to ensure that your objectives match with the coach’s experience, skills, competences, and availabilities.

To search for a coaching session:

  1. Click on “Find a coach” in the menu bar
  2. Use search by keywords or filter by price, categories and subcategories, geographical locations, coach profile, and meeting type. You can sort the results by price, popularity, ratings and date added
  3. Thumbnails show the price, ratings and name of the coach. Click on a thumbnail to see the detailed description
  4. Read the description, additional information and coach information tabs to learn more about the coach, his/her skills, experience, and availabilities
  5. Click on the review tabs to see reviews and ratings that other learners have left for the coaching session and the coach
  6. To have more information on the coach, click on the coach banner located at the top to access the coach store. You will find all his coaching sessions, detailed description, reviews, ratings, and links to his social media pages
  7. If you want to ask any questions to the coach, click on the button Ask a question

When you are ready to book, click on Add to cart

Step 3 - Book a coach

To book a coaching session:

  1. When you are ready to book, click on Add to cart
  2. Select Proceed to checkout
  3. Complete the form with all the required details. Fields marked with a star are mandatory
  4. Tick the box “I’ve read and accepted the Terms & Conditions”
  5. Click on Place order

Fill in your payment details.

When can I contact a coach?

If you want to contact a coach before booking or after a coaching session, send him a message on UCanCoach. Once a booking is confirmed on UCanCoach, send him a message, email, or call the coach to finalize the details.

How do I leave a feedback after the coaching session?

To leave your rating and feedback after a coaching session:

  1. Click on “Find a coach” in the menu bar or History in the Orders submenu
  2. Search for the coaching session that you want to comment
  3. Click on the review tabs to give your ratings and write a review
  4. Click on the Submit button

Ratings and comments can be left only by learners who have purchased the coaching session.

Can I cancel a booking I made?

You may cancel a coaching session but you must have made reasonable efforts to meet the coach’s requirement prior to making a claim, including messaging the coach to notify him/her of the issue. You may also cancel a session if you don’t feel comfortable being coached by someone in particular. The act of cancelling reservation must be supported by a valid claim. We may suspend your account until you provide a fair justification. All documents supporting the claim have to be sent by email to support@ucancoach.com.

Repeated cancellations may result in the immediate temporary or indefinite suspension of your account and all associated services.

Both, the learner and the coach must immediately inform UCanCoach team by e-mail at support@ucancoach.com so that we can take all necessary measures. If a learner cancels a session, the price of the coaching session minus the payment processing fee and the service fee will be refunded to the learner’s account, in order to cover the expenses incurred by UCanCoach in relation to the booking and cancellation of the coaching session.

Coaches and learners who don’t comply with the Quality Charter or Terms & Conditions of Use will have their account temporarily or indefinitely suspended by UCanCoach, without prejudice to any legal action that UCC may take to obtain reparation for any prejudice suffered as a result of the cancelled booking.

Can a coach cancel a booking I made?

A coach can cancel his session with you but he/she must have made reasonable efforts to meet your requirement prior to making a claim. He/she may also cancel a session if he/she doesn’t feel comfortable coaching you. The act of cancelling reservation must be supported by a valid claim. We may suspend the coach’s account until he/she provide a fair justification. All documents supporting the claim have to be sent by email to support@ucancoach.com.

Repeated cancellations may result in the immediate temporary or indefinite suspension of the coach’s account and all associated services.

What do I need to do if I don't feel comfortable being coached by someone in particular?

You may cancel a session if you don’t feel comfortable being coached by someone in particular. Justifications must be sent to support@ucancoach.com.

Paying your coaching session

What methods of payment are accepted?

All payments are managed by UCanCoach through Mangopay, an end-to-end solution for marketplaces. MANGOPAY holds an EMI licence granted by the CSSF and is a brand of the Leetchi Group, part of the Credit Mutuel Arkéa, a French banking group.

These secure and reliable payment platform allows users to pay using many types of credit cards and provide a seamless payment experience.

When will I be charged?

Your payment information is collected when you submit a booking request. Your payment method will be charged for the entire amount of the coaching session at that time.

What happens if a coach asks for more money during the coaching session?

You must not pay anything to the coach during the coaching session.

You only have to give your coach the reservation code by printing, showing or sending to your coach the email you received from us. The coach will be credited 3 to 8 days after having sent the code back to us using the payment confirmation form.

What should I do if a coach ask me to pay outside of UCanCoach?

You must not pay anything to the coach outside of UCanCoach.

Your coaching session

What is the reservation code?

The learner receives a reservation code by email within 24h after booking the coaching session. The learner has to give the code to the coach by printing, forwarding or showing the email with the reservation code during the coaching session.

This code is used by the coach to get paid after the coaching session.

How to coordinate final details with your coach?

The coach and the learner communicate with each other and agree on the date, time, place or video chat application to be used, and content of the coaching session. The coach is punctual, friendly, welcoming and available.

Confirm your contact information and coaching session details so you can reach each other in case plans change. Make sure to let each other know if you’ll be without access to a phone or the Internet.

I can't get in touch with my coach after I booked a coaching session

If you’re having trouble getting in touch with your coach after you booked a coaching session:

  • Give your coach time to respond. There might be periods of time when the coach can’t respond back to your message quickly
  • Send another message using UCanCoach messaging system
  • Send them an email
  • Visit your coach social media pages or websites and leave him/her a message

Before booking the coaching session:

  • Identify your personal or professional goals
  • Search for coaches that match your criteria
  • Spend some time reading coaching session descriptions. If available, visit the coaches’ websites, blogs, social media pages to cross-check his/her knowledge, competences and skills
  • See ratings and reviews to get the sense of the strengths and weaknesses of the coaching session
  • Contact coaches through the UCanCoach messaging system to ask any questions
  • When you think you found a coach, message him on UCanCoach and see if you are a good fit for one another. Make sure your objectives match with the coach’s profile and availabilities
  • Book your coaching session quickly to ensure that your coach will be able to coach you

Before the coaching session:

  • Communication is a key element. Do not hesitate to ask questions about the upcoming coaching session
  • Tell the coach about your expectations and special needs you may have. Share relevant information
  • Schedule your coaching session. The ideal timeframe is at most within 2 weeks. Coordinate with your coach to agree on the final details
  • Print or be ready to show the email with the reservation code to your coach
  • In case of any unexpected event that may interfere with the coaching session (date, content, location…), let your coach know as soon as possible

During the coaching session:

  • Be punctual, friendly, welcoming, available and respectful
  • Listen to your coach and keep an open-mind at all times
  • Let the coach know immediately if you don’t feel comfortable
  • Feel free to ask any questions you may have
  • Give the reservation code to the coach

After the coaching session:

  • Always give a rating and write an honest review about the coach and your coaching experience. UCanCoach is built on its community and your opinions are really valuable to others
  • Message your coach on UCanCoach and give him your feedback about the session (strengths, weaknesses, areas for improvement)
  • Let the coach know if you achieved your goals
  • Feel free to book other sessions with the coach

Can I extend my coaching session after it ends?

Your coach and you agree on the date, time, place video chat application to be used, and content of the session. If your session has ended, feel free to book other sessions with the coach on UCanCoach.

What should I do if the coaching session is not as expected?

If the coaching session is not as expected:

  • Let the coach know immediately during the session
  • Give him/her a chance to fix the issue
  • After the session, write an honest review (see our review guidelines)

UCanCoach encourages you to communicate with coaches using our internal messaging system prior to booking any coaching session. This is the best way to make sure that you a good fit for one another and that your objectives match the coach’s profile.

Do I get a full refund in case of cancellation?

If a coach cancels a session, UCanCoach won’t charge any transaction or payment processing fees. The full amount of the coaching session will be refunded by UCanCoach to the learner via a secure interface.

If a learner cancels a session, the price of the coaching session minus the payment processing fee and the service fee will be refunded on the learner’s account.

The act of cancelling reservation must be supported by a valid claim. All documents supporting the claim have to be sent by email to support@ucancoach.com.

How do I request a refund?

Both the learner and the coach must immediately inform the UCanCoach team by e-mail to support@ucancoach.com so that we can take all necessary measures.

Your claim will be reviewed by our team. You will be credited 3 to 8 days after the cancellation has been approved.

Ratings & reviews

Give ratings and write reviews

All the reviews on UCanCoach are written by learners from our community. Any review you see is based on a real experience that a learner had in a coaching session.

To add a rating and a review:

  1. Go on the coaching session you booked
    • use Find a coach in the menu bar,
    • or Orders > History (in the submenu under your profile icon in the menu bar) > View
  2. Click on the Review tab
  3. Give a rating from 1 star (low rating) to 5 stars (good rating) and write a review
  4. Click on Submit

If you want to add specific details or clarify some points, you can submit multiple reviews for the same coaching session.

What are UCanCoach's review guidelines?

Only learners who made a booking can leave ratings and reviews. We believe in transparency and clear communication. When writing a review, stick to the facts. The best reviews provide constructive information that helps the community make better decisions.

We reserve the right to moderate or remove reviews that violate our Quality Charter, and Terms & Conditions of Use.

In particular, UCanCoach does not allow reviews:

  • That do not represent a learner’s personal experience
  • Unrelated to the actual booking
  • That endorse or promote illegal or harmful activity or violence, or are profane, vulgar, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or discriminatory
  • That violate another person’s or entity’s rights, including intellectual property rights and privacy rights
  • Proven to be used as extortion
  • That refer to a UCanCoach investigation

Can I edit a review already posted?

You cannot edit a review already posted. However, you may add another review if you want to add details and clarify some points.

Can I write a review for a coach who cancelled on me?

You can’t write a review for a cancelled booking. If you’d like to provide feedback, you can send a message to your coach using our messaging system.

How can I check a coach profile description?

Coaches have a detailed profile and publish coaching offers with pictures, areas of expertise, rates, geographic locations, and availabilities. Learners can check coach Ids and profile details by connecting to their social networks, blogs and websites.

If coaches don’t have any links, send them a message on UCanCoach. Ask them to include some links on their profile.

Can I ask questions prior to a booking?

UCanCoach encourages any member of its community to communicate using our internal messaging system. Communication is a key element. Ask questions to clarify some points, confirm ID or check availability. Get to know a coach or learner to see if you are a good fit for one another. Starting a conversation is only one click away once you are signed in.

Confirmed ratings & reviews

Learners have the opportunity to leave a rating and write a review only after having been coached. Reviews and ratings keep coaches accountable for what is written in their profile description. The better the ratings, the better the coach’s reputation.

What are the safety tips to follow?

Make sure that you have the best experience using UCanCoach by following a few simple rules:

  • Spend some time reading descriptions. Visit the coaches’ websites, blogs, social media pages to check the ID and information of the coaches
  • Look at ratings and reviews. Contact learners who wrote a review
  • Get to know your prospective learner/coach to see if you’re a good fit for one another
  • Always pay and use the communication system on UCanCoach
  • Use UCanCoach messaging system to ask questions and clarify some points
  • Read carefully our Quality Charter and Terms & Conditions of Use
  • Trust your intuition. If you don’t feel comfortable about booking a session or coaching someone, don’t do it!

Does UCanCoach verify profile information?

Coaches have a detailed description including links to their social media pages, websites and blogs. Learners can check coach Ids and profile details by visiting these pages. We encourage learners to ask questions to coaches using UCanCoach messaging system.

The sole role of UCanCoach is to facilitate the connection between coaches and learners. We do not verify ID. Members providing incorrect, incomplete and misleading details at registration will have their account immediately temporary or indefinitely suspended.

As an amateur or a professional coach, your earnings may be subject to income taxes. Contact your local tax office for more information.To assist with US tax compliance, we may collect your taxpayer information. Even if you’re not a US taxpayer, we may still require certain information from you.
